2012-13 Graduate School Public Lectures: Laurie Anderson
Kane Hall 130, UW Seattle

This event is sold out. The UWAA thanks you for your interest and we look forward to providing you with similar opportunities in the future.

New and exciting technology is changing the way we think about art, music, and language today. The collision of techology and art might be new for most of us, but it’s familiar territory for Laurie Anderson, who will cover a variety of topics in her presentation, Laurie Anderson Talks Technology, Art, Dreams.

The performance artist will discuss her career—now at 40 years and counting—which has juxtaposed the worlds of technology, music, visual art, dreams, and the power of linguistics. Anderson has worked as a poet, photographer, filmmaker, musician and visual artist throughout her career, and she was named the "first and last" artist-in-residence at NASA.
