2014 Spencer G. Shaw Lecture featuring Grace Lin
UW Campus, Kane Hall Room 220

SPENCER G. SHAW ENDOWED LECTURE SERIES

Featuring Newbery Honor Book Author Grace Lin

PATH OF A MULTICULTURAL AUTHOR & ILLUSTRATOR

Join us for an evening with Grace Lin, award-winning author and illustrator of more than 20 books including The Year of the Dog, Ling & Ting, and Starry River of the Sky. Her novel Where the Mountain Meets the Moon was a 2010 Newbery Honor Book. Most of Lin's books are about the Asian-American experience. She believes, "Books erase bias, they make the uncommon everyday, and the mundane exotic. A book makes all cultures universal."

The Spencer G. Shaw Endowed Lecture Series spotlights literature and library service for children and young adults. It honors beloved UW Information School Professor Emeritus Spencer Shaw, who was an internationally-known librarian, storyteller and teacher.
