The Henry M. Jackson Endowed Professorship in Law originated as a gift from the law school class of 1935 at their 50th class reunion in honor of their classmate, U.S. Senator Henry "Scoop" Jackson. Senator Jackson served Washington state in Congress for nearly 43 years. He was a strong supporter of civil rights and environmental protection and influential on foreign affairs matters. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation continues the Senator's legacy of leadership.
