Professor Kar-Yiu Wong convened the conference addressing issues resulting from the rise in several forms of economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region.

Adjunct Professor Anirban Basu Elected Fellow of American Statistical Association
Professor Basu, a specialist in public health interventions, was elected in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the statistical profession.

The World Bank recently held its first conference on Global Value Chains, Trade and Development, to which Prof. Ghironi was an invited speaker.

Current undergraduates and recent alumni were invited to volunteer their time teaching kids a preliminary understanding of money and the principles of earning, spending, and saving.

Tim Jenkins, '86, Selected 2016 Economics Distinguished Alumnus
A management consultant, entrepreneur, and investor, Tim has devoted his career to helping companies of all types form, grow and thrive. In 1995, he founded management consulting firm Point B.  
Alumnus David Griswold Honored with 2016 Gehrt Volunteer Service Award
Established in 2014, the award seeks to recognize the efforts of a long-term volunteer who has made a significant difference in the department through his or her involvement.
