Benjamin LeeA passion for East Asian diplomacy

High school can be tough, but how about moving to a new country without your family at the same time? The bravery and hunger for knowledge that brought undergrad Benjamin Lee to the Seattle area blossomed at the UW. He hopes that his East Asian policy research or perhaps a diplomatic career may one day contribute to peace in the region. Read more >

Varsha GovindarajuSay "hello" to UW's newest Luce Scholar — and this year's youngest!

18 year-old Varsha Govindaraju is just getting started. One of only 18 students nationwide to be named a 2015-16 Luce Scholar, the former Robinson Center student will live in Asia next year and expects that it will inform her perspective on social justice on her way to becoming a public interest lawyer. Spring Events 

Undergraduate Research Symposium
May 15, 2015
11 a.m.–6 p.m.
Locations include: Mary Gates Hall, Johnson Hall, Meany Studio Theater, and Odegaard Undergraduate Library

More than 1,000 students will present their research in a wide-range of disciplines, from aerospace to philosophy, international studies to design, anthropology to computer science, and just about everything in between.

Beyond the Selfie: Spring Celebration of Service and Leadership

On campus and off, UW students are expanding definitions of service and leadership and blurring the boundaries between classroom and community. Through service and leadership, students are looking beyond themselves and focusing on the bigger picture around them.
Get excited by student stories of passion, commitment and creativity at this year’s Spring Celebration as students present their work in the gallery of student projects, through public presentations and at the celebratory reception.
