Happy Spring from the Dean
UW undergraduates are
driven to discover ways to make our big, complex world a better place. In this
spring update, meet students who have taken advantage of learning opportunities
at the UW to think in unconventional ways, address perplexing problems head-on,
and expand their worldview by following their passions. As nearly 5,000 of them
prepare to participate in the UW’s 140th Commencement Exercises, the rite of

A passion for East Asian diplomacy
school can be tough, but how about moving to a new country without your family
at the same time? The bravery and hunger for knowledge that brought undergrad
Benjamin Lee to the Seattle area blossomed at the UW. He hopes that his East
Asian policy research or perhaps a diplomatic career may one day contribute to

Say "hello" to UW's newest Luce Scholar — and this year's youngest!
year-old Varsha Govindaraju is just getting started. One of only 18 students
nationwide to be named a 2015-16 Luce Scholar, the former Robinson Center
student will live in Asia next year and expects that it will inform her

Beyond the Selfie: Spring Celebration of Service and Leadership
