Gary Hill is internationally renowned as a pioneer in video, sound art, performance, and installation. For over four decades he has produced highly experiential works, both rigorous and sensual, that defy convention and expand consciousness The works in this exhibition showing March 31 - September 16 at the Henry Art Gallery offer a focused survey of the career of one of contemporary art's most enduring and original innovators. Crowdfunding Research at the Burke
Burke Museum curator of vertebrate paleontology Christian Sidor wants to bring a triceratops to Seattle. An archeology team is trying to figure out what's inside a mysterious vessel that washed up on the Washington coast. And they're turning to a crowd-sourcing startup to help make it happen. Read more.

Solaris Vocal Ensemble melds ancient and modern
Ancient art forms meet twenty-first century innovation this spring with the debut of the Solaris Vocal Ensemble. School of Music assistant professor Giselle Wyers conducts world premieres of commissioned works by renowned American composers Meredith Monk, Ingram Marshall, Anne LeBaron, and Frances White in the group’s first public appearance.     Drama alumnus appears in Magic/Bird
Robert Manning, Jr's career in drama happened almost by accident. Now, having appeared in everything from television to Shakespeare, he prepares for a Broadway role in Magic/Bird, a play exploring the relationship and rivalry between 1980's basketball stars Larry Bird and Magic Johnson.
