Entrepreneur Speed Dating

Think your research might have commercial value? Interested in how commercialization works at UW? Wonder about what it takes to launch a start-up? Then join us for an afternoon designed to inspire you to action.

We offer two ways you can take part:

OPTION 1. Sign up for the Entrepreneur Speed-Dating sessions and enjoy the happy hour that follows.

Speed Dating: Get ready for four intense back-to-back 20-minute sessions. Participants confer with recognized entrepreneurs with experience in launching successful companies. Entrepreneur Speed Dating pairs UW researchers with C4C’s current and past Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIRs), UW’s Entrepreneurial Faculty Fellows (EFFs), and C4C Technology Managers. Our entrepreneurs serve as an initial sounding board and a source of ideas and practical advice on starting a company. Who knows? Your sessions may spark a longer-term relationship.

Who should date? UW researchers who want to explore commercialization opportunities. Those who don’t yet have an idea, but wish to learn more about the start-up process and C4C resources are welcome to discuss their area of research.

Networking Happy Hour: After the intensity of the speed-dating sessions, relax and enjoy the fellowship of your entrepreneurial colleagues, as well as food and drink, courtesy of our sponsor Perkins Coie.

IP Corral & C4C Corner:  We’ll have two stations to take your questions one-on-one. The IP Corral will be staffed by C4C Patent Portfolio Managers and guest consultants from law firm Perkins Coie to take your IP questions. The C4C Corner will be staffed by C4C subject matter experts to take your commercialization questions.

OPTION 2. If you’re not ready to date, drop in afterward during our happy hour to catch up with your colleagues and our entrepreneurs.
